Worksheet Change Macro without .xlsm extension

    Hi all,

Earlier a poster helped me out with a problem and sent me an example .xls with some vba code. I'm confused as to how he managed to save the file (code and all) without saving it as a .xlsm and have the code still run. Is there something I'm missing?? Does it not do the same thing with a .xlsx?? Thanks!

In order to use the new format, save as a macro enabled workbook which .xlsM.

Makes sense. So then I'm assuming the original .xls is already a macro-enabled format? And there was no distinction between a macro enabled and non-macro enabled prior to Excel 2007?
