    Post Counting cells...

    Hi all...

Just tried putting the formula in to count blank cells 'COUNTA', but the cells have drop downs in, which are set to blank, and also have conditional formatting in to shade if blank, and the sum of the count comes to 0, when it should be 26, where am I going wrong?

Question Adding time to previous time

I am trying to figure the forumla that would be A+B=C where all A, B, & C are expressed in times but B is the time spent in distance (D & E).

    Example:
    I leave New York at 13:00 (1:00pm) [A}.
I am driving 30 miles per hour [D] and am going 90 miles [E].
How many minutes does it take to go 90 miles at 30mph [B] and
What is my arrival time [C]?

The answers above should be B=180 and C=16:00 but everything I get for C is totally wrong. I am unable to add the number of minutes it takes to the departing time to get a arrival time.

BTW, this is my first post so if I erred on anything, please be gentle .

    Thanks!

Re: Adding time to previous time

Snow - thats a big spreadsheet. i dont have time to look through it all and guess where you want the formula to go. Can you give me some specifics. where do you want it to go and which range do u want it to calculate? Also what do u want a count of? Blank cells or cells with a value in. The more info you give the greater chance of someone being able to help.

    Hi

The page is 'Rota', the cell is any under the filled columns, I want it to read blank cells (the ones with the formatted checks in)

    Thanks...

    Re: Conting cells...

instead of just a blank in valiation list cell b3 change that to ="" then reapply the validation to the rota sheet
