    Exclamation VLOOKUP to lookup an un-named column

    OK im not very good when it comes to these usually so todays mini project on a monday confussed me.

    The attached is what im working on.

    Sheet 1 contains the data. Sheet 2 is the user entry form. and Sheet 3 contains the Named ranges that populate the drop downs in sheet 2.

    I need the VLOOKUP to be able to query as follows

    from = sheet 1 B:B
    to = sheet 1 C:C

    thats easy enough i think but heres the difficulty

    Pass Type (TicketType) = the relavant price for the travel cost required.

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi.

    I really could not understand what you actually want. Do you want that when you put in the values in A3 and B3 in Sheet 2, the Pass type and Ticket Price should come. Please give more information on what do you want to happen.

    Hello,

    see attached file.

    First, consider re-defining your range names not to span whole columns. This is pointless if you want to use them for data validation. I've re-defined them to include just the occupied rows. Any empty row you include in the range name will render the data validation useless, because the user can enter any value.

    I've then copied the exact text from column C in Sheet3 to the table headers in Sheet1, to make a lookup possible.

    Now, on Sheet2, this formula will lookup the desired fare:
