Automatic Refilling Excel Sheed with over 1 Million Rows

    Hey together,
Greets from Germany, please don´t expect perfect English (:

    My Problem:
I got an excel sheed where Row 1 - 13 and Column A - AFG is full with normal Numbers, Letters and Standard formations. - Nothing Special.
Column A is frozen and on the top of the Column A is a Makro Button.
By clicking on this Button a Window appears where i have to put in some information and that Information will be added to a specified text box with Framework. This works perfectly so far.
But: The Sheed has over 1 Million Rows and i don´t know why. If i try to delete from Row 100 - 1 Million blabla (max amount of Rows via Google) it says a Warning that this Process will take very long time and i shouldn´t do that. Is there any Trick or a "Standardsetting" i have to set?

    Please help me

    Greets Ruben

    Hello,

Every Excel sheet in version 2007 and above will have over a million rows. What is the problem? You cannot completely get rid of these rows. You can hide them if you don't want to see them, but they will still be there.

Select row 101 by clicking on the rown number.
Hold down the Ctrl key and hit the down arrow key
Right click anywhere in the selection and click the "Hide" command in the context menu.

If this is not what you're after, you will need to explain in a bit more detail.

Wenn Du möchtest, können wir die Frage auch ins Forum für nicht-Englische Fragen verschieben und auf Deutsch weitermachen.

    cheers,

Re: Automatic Refilling Excel Sheed with over 1 Million Rows

The File has a size of over 5 MB, very unusal for so less Information.
This file will be opened from many People at work and it would be helpfully when i can get this solved.
Even the Problem that i can´t erase the empty Rows makes me crazy because it shows me that there is "something" which exists and is not eraseable?

Von mir aus können wir das machen (:

    danke aber trotzdem!

Re: Automatic Refilling Excel Sheed with over 1 Million Rows

Thanks for ur helpful Answer but my Problem is still not solved -.-

My Sheed still has exactly 1048576 Rows and my last Formatting (i have done conscious) is in Row 13.

If i set Cursour in H18 and use the "Strg+Shift+End" to find my last Formatting it jumps to Row 1043159 Column AGT.
    But there is nothing??
When i set the Cursour in a Row behind 1043159 and use "Strg+Shift+End" it Shows me always any other "last element of the sheed" - cell.

Any Ideas whats up with this Sheed?

Of course i can work with the Sheed for so long but im just interested (:

The "Method 1" in the KB article normally does the trick. But you have to follow the steps, i.e. Delete unused rows and columns, then SAVE and CLOSE the file. Open it again and the last active cell should be in the normal range.

Re: Automatic Refilling Excel Sheed with over 1 Million Rows

Yes i try to delete Row 1047800 to 1048576. When i klick on delete excel seems to do something (erasing) but immediately in the same second the Rows are refilled until line 1048576.
If i try to delete a huge size of Rows excel shows a Warning that this takes very much time and many Computer Ressources, so i tried it with a small Amount of 776 Rows, this shouldn´t be a Problem right?

Saving the File like described in "Method 1" would only make Sense if the Rows were not longer there, rightyy?

I have Column A frozen, is this a Problem? Even i think not because if i "unfreeze" the column it doesnt work either.

The rows themselves cannot be deleted, only their contents. If you don't want the extra rows you can only hide them
