Summing up an individual’s total value that is displayed a mass spreadsheet

Hi

I would appreciate any help that I can get.

I have a spreadsheet with a long list of names and how much each individual has spent with my company. However my system does not allow me to combine the total value of how much each person has spent with my company if they have shopped more than once.

So for example I could have the same person on the spresheet 3 times but with 3 different sales figure as purchase was made on 3 different times.

Could anyone please advise me if there is a formula on excel that would allow me to display the total figure of how much each individual spent with me along with their name displayed?

I am using Microsoft Office Excel 2007
