    Highlighted Cells While Holding CTRL

I'm new to Excel version 2007 and when I select multiple cells in various sections of a worksheet (by holding down the CTRL key) it is very difficult to see which cells have already been selected (it highlights it in a very light blue that is so light that it's hard to distinguish from the white cells that aren't selected).

Is there a way to darken the cells that are being selected when holding down the CTRL key?

This topic used to come up regularly. Excel 2007 inadequately highlights selected cells. There has been a smattering of suggestions, from adjusting screen contrast to tweaking registry settings. So far, none of them effectvely deals with the situation and all of them have drawbacks.
Excel 2010 has better highlighting. (Sorry there isn't better news)

Wow, how could they not catch this flaw? When there is data in the selected cells, the highlighting is almost impossible to see.

One trick I have found is to temporarily highlight all the cells a dark color and then when you start selecting cells they get highlighted in a lighter shade...it is much easier to see than when the cells are white.
