    7.2-0.1 doesn't work?

    Cell A1 = 7.2-0.1 = 7.1
    Cell B2 = vlookup(A1,Thickness_Table,2,false)

    B2 current gives me #N/A.

    1) If I manually typed 7.1 to A1, vlookup works fine.
    2) If I use -0.2 or some other number instead of -0.1, vlookup works fine.

    How come vlookup gives #N/A when A1 = 7.2-0.1?

I'm using Excel 2007 (the version with Ribbons)

    Thanks.

Sometimes you get small "rounding errors" due to the "floating point arithmetic" that Excel uses. Try rounding the result in A1 like

    =ROUND(7.2-0.1,9)
    Audere est facere

    Interesting.
