you could also use the find function if you also want to match of the case (ie. upper or lower) of word
Leon (good) asnwer is #NA
I move formula to my file, answer also is #NA. why ?
MATCH(TRUE,ISNUMBER(SEARCH( Z2,'Name of Deceased'!E3:E13)),0)
Leon (Good) is not in the list in first column that is the reason the forumla is giving #NA. It you serach Leon only the formula will show result 3
You should note that Array formula is used and should be confirmed though Ctrl+Shift+Enter rather than just enter. if you press just entery it will give #NA
I have names of customers in column A for 2010. I have names of customers in column B for 2011. I have column C open for names of customers that were in 2010 and 2011. What is an array function to give me this information in column C and not leave any spaces between lines.
