basic difference between excel and tally

Today I was asked that what is the different between Excel and Tally, I answered but it was not clear, please suggest me some basic difference between these two softwares.

Tally is a complete business accounting and inventory management software that provides various facilities like Govt. supported formats, multilingual operations, online functions and processing for small and medium businesses.


Excel - It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications. It has been a very widely applied spreadsheet for these platforms.
