    Question Adding Minutes and hours

    Hi everyone,

As a UK truck driver, I am governed by the Working Time Directive, which states that I am not allowed to work for more than 48 hours in a rolling 26 week period, and as such, I am trying to create a sheet that will calculate my daily activities over the week. The daily activities of Driving Time, Other Duties, Periods of Availability, and of course, Breaks, would be entered on a time format, such as 6:32 for driving, 2:37 other, 3:30 for POA and 0:46 Break.
These would need to entered on a daily basis, and each activity would then need to show the total hours and minutes at the end of the week. I haved tried the X4:X8 in time and general formats, and even added the *24, but these are not giving the correct results, and I am completely stumped and bow before those of superior Excel knowledge and seek your expertise.
I am using MS Excel 2010 on windows 7 if that helps or makes any difference.

Many thanks in advance, Paul, (A newbie to this site and excel)

Figued it out now, went to format cells, custom, (hh:mm) (took out the :ss), removed the *24 from the formula and it works.
