Question Extract url from picture

hi,

I did a search but couldn't find an answer to something that's must have been asked before and solved too!

I'm using excel 2003 or word 2003. I have hundred of avatars [pictures] that when I hover my mouse over I can see the url. I need to extract all the urls into a column from the avatars. The avatars are lined up in column A one over over the other, they take up 6 rows.

Not sure where to put this.

Exclamation Re: how to extract the url from a picture/avatar

thank you so much Ben! it is much appreciated.
I hae done a little work with excel Macros and prefer Excel as it works with large amounts of data with ease as compared to Word. I will play with the Word macro that you provided.

I should have posted an xls file and I have belatedly done so now within this reply. I hope you can code a Macro that would extract from column A the urls into column B. If you could attach an updated xls file with the Macro that would be a big help.

thanks again.

excellent .. elegantly extracted the urls in a blink of an eye.

ought to be in some tip column or some where searchable :-)

thanks again!

Re: Extract url from picture

This is really helpful, but for some reason when I run it on my file the last character of each URL is being truncated. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
