    Formula: Cell=(text)A new cell=(text)B

I am trying to simplify the amount substitutions I need to do in several worksheets by name a group of cells with with the information I need in the formulas.

If a cell is text with the character "A", how do I put information in the new cell that equals "A" +2 so that the new cell equals "C"?

Maybe I am trying to make this too hard and should just use one worksheet with tables that the other sheets would like to for the information?

Example: Each month I created a new month tab that links to a sheet with all of the income line items with the columns being the months. right now, I have to go into the new sheet and substitute the old column with the new column. I would like to not do the substitution, but just use a "named" cell that the link uses.

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
