percentage format

    percentage format

    my problem is when i am adding percentage tocertain numbers, 2 extra zeros are appearing with the format eg:i want to enter 23% but its showing 2300% how to get away from this please somebody help me

    If you have formatted the cell containing the percentage to a percentage format divide the number in the cell by 100.

    Alternatively don't format the cell as a percentage and just enter say 23 followed by the % sign, to give 23%

    its ok for a single cell but i cannot copy paste to other cells they are showing the same problemsof 2 extra zero

    Type 100 somewhere, then copy it.

    Then highlight the other cells, and right-click> paste-special> operation> divide.
