Stopping Replace All processing with linked spreadsheets

I clicked Find/Replace All, not realizing I still had linked formulas in many of my fields. I am getting a pop-up box for every instance asking me to select the file to open. I have to hit cancel or close that box each time, because I don't want to open the source file and change the source data. There are 20,000 rows in the spreadsheet, I don't want to have to cancel thousands of times! Is there a way to stop the processing?

    thanks!

    Can you close the workbook?
