    Dates in a worksheet

In a worksheet of diary dates I would like to link the dates to the footer date and when a worksheet date is overdue turn the cell red - possible?

What do you mean by "footer date"?

    Re: Dates in a worksheet

Assuming the dates are in column A, starting in row 2, select all the cells you want to highlight.

Select Conditional Formatting and choose the condition: Formula: =$A2<TODAY() then choose the format you want to apply. Note that the cell address will adjust automatically.

    Re: Dates in a worksheet

Right that works thanks- I can get Red Amber Green the dates for overdue, today and future by using <,=,> Today in the condition fields. I now want to extend the Amber from "Today" to "Today + 31 days" but cannot get it working. How do I change the 2nd & 3rd conditions fields? And is it "cell value is" or "formula is"? Thanks

    Re: Dates in a worksheet

You use Formula is and it is TODAY()+31 ... the brackets indicate a function with no parameters. No idea why it's done like that but the brackets are necessary.
