    Hyperlinks within a cell

I'm trying to create a hyperlink in excel 2007. It looks like I can only create a hyperlink from an entire cell. I would like to create a hyperlink from a particular word or prhase within a cell that contains many words. Is this possible? For example, I have the follwing words in one cell: Insert part A into the end of part B. I would like to create a hyperlink on only the text "part A". Please help!

    Welcome to the Forum!

You cannot attach a hyperlink only to a specific section of text. There is a workaround to achieve this but it is not perfect. You can create a shape, such as a rectangle, and put in over the word or phrase you want a link for. You can format the shape to have no fill, so you can see the word behind it. Then right-click on the shape, and select "hyperlink" to create a link.

You could even set the shape up as "no line" so it is completely invisible, but you can still click on it for the link. You can format the cell so that the desired word or phrase is underlined to make it look like a link.

I have done this although sometimes when you move things around the shape doesn't end up where you want it and you have to move it again.

You could also use adjacent cells to present your Part A and Part B links using HYPERLINK() formulas, perhaps?
