    Question Finding multiple entries

I have a spreadsheet of roughly 4000 rows with about 15 columns full of information. The sheet lists computers by model number, serial number and multiple other pieces of information. I am trying to figure out how to search one column of model numbers for multiple numbers.

    example

I need to find all of the units (or remove the numbers that don't match) with model number 1234, 2345, 3456, 4567 ect.. out of column of over 200 different model numbers, and at the same time, keep all of the other information in the surrounding columns.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Kenneth

If you could upload a sample attachment. I will take a look at it.

    Re: Finding multiple entries

For security purposes i can't upload the exact file, so i will upload a replica file.

I need to search column c (unitpartnumber) for all entries that include the part numbers found in sheet 2 column a.

usually i am searching for 30 to 40 part numbers out of 4000+ rows.

I know how to do it with filtering, but i was hoping for a formula.

    Thanks

That works great for one part number, but is there any way, to retrieve all three part number searches at one time?

    Hi krrthree,

You could do a AutoFlter on your data and simply multi-select the values you want to see.

You could also do an Advanced Filter on your data and create a seperate table of only those values.

    MarvinP,

Thanks for the advice; However, I know how to filter through them, but this is huge report that has to be re-filtered many times a day making it a tedious task. And as far as advance filter, i need it find the results in place. Multiple people will be using this once i can figure out a way to do it, and some of them won't be able to understand advance filter.

    Thanks again.

    KHamilton,

That works great! Now how do "I" do it?
