    Cool Layout question

On some excel sheets that I've received, the active area is clearly defined with the rest of the worksheet in a dark blue. Although it is not password protected, one cannot click a cell outside the active area and I cannot find out how this is done. It doesn't show up on page set, preferences or properties. Also, in the area outside the active area, columns, rows do not appear. I'd like to use this feature but don't know how to replicate it with forms that I must distribute.

See the Calendar Array Excel file attched. Any suggestions?

Also, I cannot find any button or paper clip to allow me to upload a sample file.

Hi Edfitch, welcome to the forum.

Can you upload a copy of the workbook to the site? The helpful volunteers here could then review it and probably get you an answer relatively quickly.

I'd love to attached an example, but I'm stumped as to how to do that. I cannot find a "browse" button.

To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'.
To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'.
Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments.

You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page.
Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page.

To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file.

To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page.
Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
Would you like to say thanks? Please click the: " Add Reputation" button, on the grey bar below the post.
