    Question IF Formula?

Hi - would somebody be kind enough to help please? I am struggling with a work document.
I have 4 cells which each have 2 drop down lists -
The option in the drop down lists are:
    ACCEPT or N/A.
Whichever cell is chosen as ACCEPT, I want the other 3 cells to go to N/A automatically.
How would I do this please?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Forum!

    This requires a macro.

What you describe is data validation using a list. You can't have data validation and a formula at the same time in a cell.

If you are interested in solving this with a macro attach your workbook so we can see the specifics.

Attached is a solution that does what you describe, but after seeing your example I think that using option buttons is a better option. I also included that.

    Re: IF Formula?

You may have to do a little research on this.

In 2003, you should add the Control Toolbox toolbar. Right click on a blank area of the menu bar, and check the box for Control Toolbox. This will show a toolbar. This toolbar has an icon at the far left that is the "Design mode" button. Press that. Then press the button that looks like an option button. The cursor will turn to a "+" and you can draw the option button anywhere you like on the worksheet.

Right click on the option button to bring up a list of properties, and you can change its name, caption, and link it to a cell (LinkedCell). The linked cell will show TRUE if the button is selected and FALSE if not.

If you create multiple buttons (and you should because that is the whole point of option buttons) then you need to associate them with a GroupName. For the buttons in the same group, if one is clicked on then any other one that was previously on will be turned off. That is, only one button in a group can be on at a time.
