    Automating Timesheet.

I need help automating this time sheet.
I just want to insert in time and out time.
Attached is an example of a Sunday timesheet.
There is only one unpaid break between 1230 and 1300. Normal time is 0730 to 2000 on weekdays. All of Saturday is overtime and all of Sunday is double time.
Hope someone can help with this problem.

    Re: Automating Timesheet.

I have added an answer ( yellow and orange hihghlight) for two possibilities ( not necessarily on overtime days) (see attached)

But, you should first change your sheet and format cells as needed.

F.I the In and OUT cells are text

before entering time, format those columns astime then enter hh:mm NOT hhmm. That makes things difficult to work with

If you have other problems don't hesitate to post back

    Thanks Arthurbr
I'm starting to read up on Excel formulaes and VBA in a hope that i will one day be able to help others like you are doing now. Any sugestions on reading material that would help. Could you please help me understand how this formula works and why does it show all ##### when i input a time after 08:00 pm in the in time in the orange row? Is it possible to enter the time without having to manually insert the colons? Many thanks in advance.

    Re: Automating Timesheet.

I think the attached should cover your needs.
You can enter start and end time with the drop down boxes in col D and E

Use the sheet as a template for other days, just enter the date in B2.

I have adapted the times in the colored zone. Feel free to test the rest
