I've created a chart and edited the "series" legend to the appropriate names. My edited changes appeared on my chart. When I went to save this document and reopen it the changes were not saved.

What names are you trying to change? are you wanting to rename series 1 2 3 etc? if so, go into select Data, highlight Series 1, click Edit, then click on the name from name column thats appropriate for that series. If thats not what your trying to acheive, please explain a little omre. Doing the Edit in the way suggested i've closed and reopened the chart and it saves fine
