    SharePoint to excel

    Gurus,

I exported the list of employee data from SharePoint to excel 2007. Everything work fine, except one column is giving me a problem. Employee IDs are coming in weird format and is not allowing my calculations to be done properly. If i double click on individual cell then it work fine but after refreshing it goes back to some weird format. I tried to change the column format to numbers but no luck. The only way out is to double click each cell every time I refresh the data.

I am not an advance excel user so any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Xenos...

    Re: SharePoint to excel

Alright, this was the first time when I haven't got the answer from this forum. At last i figured it out myself. The solution: when you export a sharepoint list to excel database and sync it, the properties somehow comes as a text and hence the calculations won't go through. The workaround is manual as I figured out, which is, to select the column and then click on "text to column" from the tool bar.
