Hello,

I'm currently working on a spreadsheet that models the result of six elections, each on a separate sheet in a workbook, showing the number votes cast for each party in several hundred polling districts. The list is vertical, so the name of each polling district is in column A, then Party's 1 votes and percent are in B and C, Party 2's in D and E, etc. I have used conditional formatting so that the cell background colour of each name in column A changes to the colour of the party that won the most votes in each district.

On a seventh sheet, I am trying to use these colours to give readers an easy way to see how districts have changed hands through time - Column A displays the name of the district, Column B shows the colour of the winning party in the first election, Column C the winning party in the second election etc etc. However, because the cell formatting is conditional, when I copy it to this new sheet, the background colours don't carry over - just the district names.

Is there any way to copy cell background colour and paste it across to the same cells in another sheet, without having to redo conditional formatting, or do it manually? With hundreds of districts and half a dozen elections, doing either would massively increase my workload for what is all ready a fairly time consuming project.
