    SUMIFS formula

    Hi there, I could seriously use a hand because I am certain my SUMIFS formula is correct, but obviously it isn't because I'm getting a return sum amount of 0, when it should be at least a few hundred. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Background: I have a table linked to Access pulling in data into one worksheet called 'Flat Table'. I want to sum the totals in AB based on whether or not the column AG in the corresponding row contains "Basem" and the date in D is between the dates as indicated in the formula. Using the same formula as a COUNTIFS without the 'Flat Table'!AB:AB works, but of course, that's a different data set than I need. Please help!

    =SUMIFS('Flat Table'!AB:AB, 'Flat Table'!AG:AG, "*Basem*", 'Flat Table'!D:D,">="&DATE(2009,7,1), 'Flat Table'!D:D,"<="&DATE(2010,6,30))

    Re: SUMIFS formula

    That probably means that AB is really text strings that look like numbers.

    Select column AB and go to Data|Text to Columns and just click Finish.

    That should fix it...

    Then format column AB as General or Number to maintain the proper format.
    Where there is a will there are many ways.

    That was the answer - I thought something must be awry with the data set. Thank you!
