I have a user who was recently upgraded to Excel 2010. She did simple pivot tables in Excel 2003. For example, she had a Excel worksheet that had a list of our employees sorted by location. She had a column with empolyee ID, Race, nationality, pay grade, etc. In 2003, she used to do a simple Pivot table on location and see that there are 50 employees in Brockton, 200 in Waltham, 50 in Weymouth etc. It sould be automatically counted. If she dragged another field, such as ***, she could see that brockton had 25 men employees and 25 female. In 2010, when I create a pivot table--this auto count feature for text fields is missing.

Is there a way to re-enable that again?
