    sumif date ranges

    Hi

    i have list of bonds with their maturity dates and values. I need the sum of bonds maturing for 2012, 2013, 2015, 2020

    what is the correct formula?
    i tried
    SUMIF(F5:F59,"1/jan/2012<31/dec/2012",O5:O59)

    but is doesnt work
    pls help
