Covert Vertical Data to Horizontal with multiple values assigned to each unique ID

    Hello,

I have excel spread sheet with each individual (Client_ID) attending a program on different dates. It is in the form of vertical data. I am trying to make it horizontal. My problem is each client_ID is linked to two programs in this case. So when I try to convert vertical data into horizontal it takes its uppermost event name and does not consider the second one.

Attached please find the sample of what I am trying to do. All the data is in vertical form (left three columns). On upper right side, please see what I have done so far. Below (highlighted in pink) is the way I need it.

Thank you so much for the help.

Re: Covert Vertical Data to Horizontal with multiple values assigned to each unique I

    Hello,

I have an Excel spreadsheet with each individual (Client_ID) attending a program (or multiple programs) on different dates. The data is presented verticallym, but I need ti to be horizontal. My problem is each client_ID is linked to two programs in this case. So when I try to convert the vertical data into horizontal by using vlookup, it takes the first event name and does not consider the second one.

Attached please find the sample of what I am trying to do. All the data is in vertical form (left three columns). On upper right side, please see what I have done so far. Below (highlighted in pink) is the way I need it.

    Hi Martin,

In the spreadsheet, I see taht we get the event name but I cannot get all the dates. I need all the dates to go with the event name; both for event 1 and event 2. I just aded one column after event name in the sample just to give an example. However in actual file, I need all the dates for each participant by their event.

    Thanks

this is what happens when you don't give your full requirements from the start,i think you'll have to use some vba code as the entries per client vary
