    Converting decimal to time

Hi all, I was hoping you could help me with a small problem. I'm tasked with taking a plain decimal number, say 1700, and converting it into it's 12-hour time equivalent (5:00 PM). The problem I'm running into is I am NOT allowed to use a colon for the decimal number whatsoever; it MUST be a standard generic number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Re: Converting decimal to time

    How about?

    =REPLACE(A2,3,0,":")+0

format result as Time. Where A2 contains generic 4 digit number to convert.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Re: Converting decimal to time

    Or

    =--TEXT(A2, "0\:00")
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
