    Formula bar/cell value mismatch

    Here is a weird problem for you.

    My VBA subroutine returns values to a cell and the values include special symbols. To get special symbols to show I have formatted the range with font.name = "my font" and then used the CHR() function and corresponding ASCII to pick the symbol.

    Get this!!!

    The correct symbols show on the formula bar, but do not show on the cells of the spreadsheet. To say that again, I have selected the cell where the symbols are suppose to be but they are wrong, but in the formula bar, showing simultaneously with the selected cell, the symbols are correct.

    This is in EXCELL 2007 & 2010 running on three different machines.


    Anyone ever run across this and know how to fix it?

    Offhand, the first thing that comes to mind is if the font doesn't have that symbol you're looking for, but this would apply to wingdings more than any normal font. It'd probably be best to post an example workbook with dummy data if you could so we can pinpoint the issue.
