on the data tab there is an option for "Data Validation"
You can set your options in here.
2+2=5 for extremely large values of 2.
Hi
Make a list of the Names and name it List(for example)
Then IN A2>>Data>>Validation>>Custom>>put the formula: =A2=List
This will let you to put there, only names of the List.

Yes thank you Fotis. It does work, but what I need is that after the spread sheet is filled in with the necessary calculated field, at the bottom is a cell Named as:
ENTER YOUR NAME:_______ . There only seven persons allowed to enter there individual ]first name. The spread sheet is done daily. The sheet is protected for whereas you enter the necessay numbers but can only enter where there are no formulas>

Sorry Fotis it was I not exactly doing the procedure correctly> After doing as too what you said proberly it works find > although I do find after using 2007 and 2010
excel for so long now and working at given times with 2003 a little challenging.
