    How to protect the selected cells instead of protecting complete sheet

    Hi all,

    Is there any option which allowes us to make a protection for particular cells instead of complete sheet?

    Please let me know if anyone know the resolution for my query.

    Thank you in advance. It would be apprecieated if anyone send me the solution.

    Hi,

    Select all cells (CTRL & A)

    Right click > format cells > protection

    untick the "locked" check box > OK

    Select only the cells you wish locked

    RIght click > format cells > protection

    tick the "locked" check box > OK
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

    Also you can lock any cells you like,(using some conditions), with Validation...
