    [SOLVED] VLOOKUP problem

This one works like it should.
    =VLOOKUP(D16;L15:M19;2;FALSE)

    This one does not:
    =VLOOKUP(D17;L15:M19;2;FALSE)

Why? The first one was created yesterday and the last one today.

    Re: VLOOKUP problem

Well if the value is not available that is what you get. Maybe post a sample of your data
Could it be that you dragged your formula down without using absolute refernces, so that L15:M19 became L16:M20 ? if so use $L$15:$M$19 and drag down as needed

    Re: VLOOKUP problem

Actually it started to work even though there was that error message. Tried again with another exercise and it worked flawlesly. Is it common in excel that weird things happen. I will give you star because you replied fast. Thank you

    Re: VLOOKUP problem

Vlookup need exact (not similar) matches between the value being looked up and the reference list (first left column in your lookup table). Even a leading or trailing space will not give similar results. Also if they are numbers saved as text then they both (the lookup value and reference list) have to be saved as text.

    Hope this helps.

Nope, the problem is usually " finger trouble"
