    Extracting Data from Webpage

    Hi all,

I am Kevin and am new to this site. I have few questions about Excel and was hoping to find some answers here.

I am having a problem with improting data from a website (weather commerce). The website contains weather information for various destinations and to view information for each destination, I have to choose a destination from a drop down menu and tick on the sub destinations to view weather information for each sub destination.

I tried importing the information using a web query but I can not import the data. Is this because the website uses drop down menus to populate information and is there a way in which I can import this data to excel?

Thank you in advance for all help.

    Kev

Its a website for weather prediction like Met Office. My company has subscribed to them and as we have a lot of sites to monitor I thought it was easy to build a spreadsheet and use web query to update them. The site can only be accessed by using a username and password.

Hi Kevin and welcome to the forum,

Excel Web Queries look for an HTML TABLE of data on the web page. If you are looking at a site that doesn't display what you want as a table then Web Queries don't work. The little yellow arrows show where the web tables are on the page. See:
