    Concatenate with a Date field

    Good day!

    I have a number of columns I need to concatenate and I know how to do that, but I am having trouble with the date column;

    So here is my problem and for this example I will use three columns and explain the results I need;

    John Smith Age 52 1973/11/30

    I want to concatenate these columns however when I do - I get: John Smith|Age 52|3244

    (3244 is just a sample - so excel is changing the date to the equivalent number)

    What I need is: John Smith|Age 52|1973/11/30

    How do I tell Excel to concatenate in that format instead of changing the date to a number?

    Hope that explains it.

    Thanks

    Lynn

    You can try something like this...

    =A1&"|"&B1&"|"&TEXT(C1,"mm/dd/yyyy")

    If you do a Text to column divide all the word into individual columns then use this custom function to combine then, I think that might work
