Hi Folks,

I'm a network admin and have been searching for a solution to this, but one doesn't seem to exist, so this is my last resort. I have an internal sharepoint site, accessed through https/ssl. I have proper certificates in place and everything (I fully understand SSL and certs), but long story short, my internal users access the site by a different name that's on the cert. It needs to be this way. Therefore, when they open excel documents on the sharepoint site, although the cert itself is valid, it obviously doesn't match the name of the site, so I get the generic certificate mismatch prompt.

I'm just wondering if this functionality can at all be disabled. It doesn't appear to be in the excel options, so I'm wondering if anyone has some sort of reg hack or know of anything that can be done? Again, I'm familiar with SSL and I know that the certificate needs to match the site name, but due to some technical limitations, that's not possible in this case.
