Help with changing A lot of Excel Files

    Hi,

I Have A file for each Week ending date and month for the whole year of 2012. For example, I have weekending 1-7-12 / 1-14-12 / 1-21-12 / 1-28-12 / A file for the month of January, then the whole year. They are all linked together and all files are identical as far as rows and columns go just different names.

My question is, Is it possible to add a line into all the files a faster way then just manually opening them all and inserting a row and naming it.

I attached the blank file so you can see what I mean. Under the first list of machines I need to add a new row titled Bandsaw Danabat. But I need to add it into all Files for the whole year, the monthly and the yearly.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Fish10800,

Working with multiple workbooks is harder than working with multiple worksheets. AND, multiple sheets are harder than a single worksheet with a single table. I'd suggest you look at trying to improve/simplify the design of your data and put it all in a single table on a single worksheet. THEN study Pivot Tables to see how to filter and sort your data by Quarter, Month, or Week to display what your multiple workbooks do now.

Go through the following tutorials and see if a single table can't do what you really need.

One test is worth a thousand opinions.
