Converting text to numbers

I have a workbook containing several thousand text entries which I want to convert to nmbers so that I can run calculations. The format of the text entry is like this:

118,428,786.00*AUD
77,594,931.00*AUD
59,099,674.00*AUD
58,000,000.00*AUD
52,065,436.00*AUD

I would ideally like to be able to trip off the last 4 characters (space plus currency code) and remove any comma's or period's (full stops).

Can anyone please help me on how this be done?

Hello mikeyo76, Welcome to the forum.

Try this.

Select the range, press CTRL+H to bring the Find/Replace command.

Find What:~**

Click Replace All.
