Applying Conditional Formatting to Non Contiguous Ranges

Hi

I have a large spreadsheet, which came prepopulated with data. What I would like to do is the following. If i select H1:10, and apply this conditional formatting

Cell Value is equal to =G1, colour cell orange

Then as expected H2's format is =G2, H3's is G3 etc.

But, if if select the H1:10 and H12:20 and apply the same formatting above, it does not work. H1's is G53875

My question is this... how can I apply this conditional formatting for non contiguous ranges? I have several ranges which need the same formatting applied.

Are you saying that you select the noncontiguous range then set up the formatting on that selection? My 2003 version is on my other machine but I'll take a look at that behavior.

But in the meantime, you should be able to set up your formatting on H1:H10, then click on H1, click the Format Painter, and copy the formatting to H12:H20 (and anywhere else you need it). When you use the Format Painter it copies all formatting including conditional formatting.
