    Having an issue with conditional formatting (excel 2007)

    ok i have cells b6 - b8 with totals in ( ie b6=50,b7=100,b8 currently empty) in c6 - c8 i want to show a profit/loss from the cell before and change colour accordingly but because there is no total in b8 yet i am getting errors with the formating.
    b6 = 50 c6 = 0
    b7 = 100 c7 = 50 (need this cell to turn green as it is a profit b7-b6=50)
    b8 = blank c8 = blank (need this cell to stay empty and white until a figure is put in b8 ie 75 (b8-b7= -25) then this cell to turn red as a loss

    Hope that makes sense. Ive tried several formulas but keep getting circular formulas throwing back error

    Ok think its nearly there but need the formatting to work both ways ie C8 could turn out positive depending on what figure is put in B8 and so needs to turn green
