    hiding Rows

I am creating a student record page. I want to identify students specific to a class. I am able to do this with an 'if' statement but that leaves the row blank. This is ok in my small trial page but as the student group grows I would like to automatically hide the unused rows or have all the specific class data at the top of the page.

I have attached the file. The formulas on worksheet 'class 2' are the ones I am referring to.

    cheers Paul

    Re: hiding Rows

    Hi,

Rather than using if formulae you should be using Data Filter Advanced to filter the ID No and Name from sheet1 using the year as the criteria cell, and then keep vlookup() formulae in the C6:E14 cells which lookup the ID in column A from the 2011 sheet.
