    disable macro warning message ?

is there a way to prevent and stop the "Security Warning Macros have been disabled" message that pops up when someone else opens a spreadsheet file I have sent to them with macros in it ? (i realize I can disable this message in my own local installation of excel)

ie. if I send my excel spreadsheet to 10 people, I do not want this security warning to pop up when they open my excel spreadsheet that has macros in it..

Does this message still pop up on Excel version 2010 ?

    Hi,

It's there for a purpose. Would you want someone to send you an Excel file with a macro designed to run riot with your system and you not know it contained a macro because they'd disabled it.

In short I don't believe it is possible. At least not with any standard Excel tools.

hmm so you want to send something to someone and allow code to be run on their machine without warning? most code you write will be ok but there is potential for someone to write malicious code ,would you want that?

If you are a trusted developer with a digital signature it may be possible i.e. you 10 clients must first of all accept your signature as coming from a trusted source. More info in link.

thanks for the answers... well i don't want anyone to get a virus, but I want to sell an excel spreadsheet and it has macro's in it and it would be cumbersome for every person who bought a copy to have to see that macro warning....

    Hi,

This is even worse. You're now suggesting that the recipients of the workbook will be people who don't even know you. I'd originally assumed that you were just sending to people in your own organisation who could reasonably be expected to know you.

Think about it from the customer's point of view and if you're selling it make a virtue of this additional protection.

As has been suggested if recipients are happy to put create a trusted location with Excel settings and put the file you send them in that location, then the file will open without the prompt. But that's the responsibility of the recipient, not yours.
