    Filter a tabel using another dorpdown list cell as criteria

    Lets say in a1 i have a drop down list that contains the values 1-12.

    and in a4:l112 i have a table. the columns we want to look at it is the "Order_Dates"

    i want to know how to filter this column using cell A1.

    would like it to basically check what number in in cell a1 and filter ftemp.xlsxor that month in the order dates column....been looking for ideas but not been able to find...can anyone help?

    i am attaching the file...please help

    Right click on the sheet and select view-> code. Then copy this code in there.

    I am able to get the table change based on the entry which is typed in A1. However, i am not able to get it work with a dropdown. The dropdown just freezes.
    Maybe someone else here will help you with that.

    this was very helpful thank you, but it works for numbers but not for dates? i mean cell A1 has a single number which specifies the month. (1-12) and the order_dates col has full dates 1/3/1997, 4/5/200..etc

    is there a way to implement this so that the order_dates col knows that it is looking for the month or maybe "begins with" criteria?
