    average of per day

    what formula should I use to calculate average no of employee hired per day, if total 3566 employees are hired in one year.
    please help me out.........

    If you want to average based on a date range then take a look at using the AVERAGEIFS function.
    See the Excel help for the syntax and arguments of the function.


    =AVERAGEIFS(B2:B3,A2:A3,">=1/1/2012",A2:A3,"<=12/31/2012")

    Replace the cell ranges and dates per your needs.

    A Pivot Table is also an option for this if you have multiple years of data.

    You need to be more specific on this.
    Do you need to divide the total hiring from 365 or do you want to exclude holidays (weekends) etc from 365. Also you need to consider successful joining by candidates, you might need to provide a sample sheet alongwith your expected results - manually entered.

If there is any predefined metric formula getting used in your HR deptt, please share that as well.
