I have a column of numbers that looks like -1623. I need it to look like -1.623. How can I do this without retyping each number?

Insert a column next to one with your numbers in (say it's column A and we're adding column B, with the data starting at row 2)
In B2 add the formula =A2/1000
Copy this formula down to the bottom of your data, then select it all and copy. Use paste special:values to paste it over your original data
Delete the column you inserted.
Job done.
Type 1000 into any free cell and copy it,
Select the column of cells to affect, then go to Edit|Paste Special and select Divide. Click Ok. Remove the 1000 from the cell you entered it in.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
