Please help making specific chart

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to create a chart with waterfall effect but i am struggling to do so. I tried fiddling with all the tweaks i know in excel, but its just not working for me.

I also searched the internet and was pointed out to buying some sort of plug in for excel that does it with just a button click, but i am sure there is a way in excel. And i am hoping someone can kindly help me with this.

Jon Peltier from www.peltiertech.com has a utility to create waterfall charts. This add-in is not free, because it took some time to put together and it's understandable that the author would appreciate some return on his invested time to provide people with a "next-next-finish" solution.

If you are willing to put in some of your own elbow grease, though, Jon also shows you how to create the waterfall chart from scratch, without the add-in

He has a free article about how to arrange your data to create a waterfall chart. It applies perfectly to your dataset. Please pipe up if you get stuck.

I read the guide and followed the tutorial. Unfortunately, it did not worked for me.

My final figure should be less than the ASP.

Maybe if you posted you workbook with the things you did following the tutorial, it would be easier to troubleshoot than just guessing.

Teylyn give the right help, see attached the waterfall chart from the free article of Jon Peltier
To get the netASP, I sum the corresponding cell
To see the bar zero value, put a very little value

The chart is correct. Check your data.

In cell C7 you are summing =SUM(B2:B4), but the data extends to B6, so you should be using =SUM(B2:B6)

Correct that value and the chart will show what you want to see.

But in the post of Crazysniper what I understand is that netASP=ASP-shipmentCost-warehousingCost
That is why I modify the sum to get the Ends as above

Also, i found a much easier way of doing it, than what john peltier did in his tutorial (links from teylyn).
