    Birthday

    I could use a litte help
    I have about 100 names and birthday dates on sheet#2 and
    on sheet #1 I would like to in put a date in one cell(A2) and recieve a list of all the names with that birth date.
    it sounds easy but so far two days and I think I am more confused then ever

    Do you want to match the exact birthdate (including year) or get a list of birthdays that are on that date? (e.g. on 4th February 2012 you get a list including 4th February 1975 and 4th February 2003)?

    I would like to match the exact date
    because I can remove the year and put it in a seperate cell
    I do not need to use a backslash, dot or anything in the date I could input it like this 0203 or some thing like that.

    Can't you use AutoFilter or Advanced Filter?

    I do not think so because that would change the original sheet and I don't want to change it every time I look up a b-day. I do use the sheet for other things and would not want to change it

    That's the whole point of Filtering. You can restore the original view or fuilter for something else without duplicating data.

    OK so how would I wright the code to type in A1 on sheet1 and get the results in row C o sheet1.
    The info is on sheet2
