Question Tracking time spent in hours and minutes

Hi, all -- forgive me if this has been addressed before, but it wasn't coming up in my searches.

I'm creating a worksheet in which workers can enter the amount of time they spend on a particular task. I want them to be able to enter the time in :15 increments (without having to enter a start and end time). I've tried restricting entries to time using data validation, but that gives me times of the day, not just hours and minutes. Same deal with cell formatting.

I also want to add up the amount of time at the end, so I'd love some help on that as well.

    Any advice?

    Many thanks,
    Susan

Hi, data validation is a good idea, but you should also set the format of the cells to (custom format) hh:mm.
The sum should be formatted to [hh]:mm to allow sums larger than 24 hours.
