Cell Reference while keeping the formatting

    Hello,

I am referencing another cell and want to keep the format on the new sheet.

Sheet 1 Cell A1 - Hello All (This has a red fill to the cell)

Sheet 2 Cell A1 - ='1!A1... (Shows up as Hello All, but no colour fill)

How do I maintain the colour fill?

    Thanks,

You can't pass the cell formats to another sheet using a cell link.

How does the source cell gets it fill color? Are you using conditional formatting to set it? If so, you should be able to use the same format conditions for sheet 2 cells.

Other than conditional formatting the only other option is VBA.

    Thanks Palmetto.

I have gone through the sheet and highlighted the cell and just used the normal colour fill. It is my inventory and if I am not ordering that item this year, I have filled the cell with red. I have not used a conditional format. I have 80 other sheets which copy the names from my inventory, that I would like the colour fill to copy over also so I don't have to go into each sheet one by one. What is VBA? Any other ideas?
