Receiving #NAME? error when adding MONTHS to a formula

I looked at a spreadsheet that our HR department created to calculate attrition rates over a one year period.

Their formula is: =(Total Attrition's/((number of people at the start of the + number of people at the end of the year)/2*12/Months. In their formula the numbers are =(3/((0+52)/2))*12/Months which came out to 11.5%.

So I copied the formula using the number I have in another worksheet and I receive the #NAME? error. When I do the checking it states that the Months is what is causing the error. Why does this happen on mine but not on theirs? We are all using excel 2007.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

After following the link you gave me, it turns out that the Analysis Toolpack was inactive on my work computer. I had to download and install it. Once I did this and had it activated, it worked.

    Thanks!
