    Question Advanced Validation Assistance Needed

I am working on a spreadsheet where I have validation requirements in one cell depending on what is in a preceeding cell. I know how to use named ranges with the Indirect() formula, but it isn't working in this instance.

If a user selects "Option 1" in cell A1, then in cell B1, they are limited to selecting from items in the named range opt1. No issues there.
However, if the user selects "Option 2" in cell A1, they should be able to enter any value into cell B1. This is where I am having trouble figuring out how to handle. Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

In Data Validation window go to the Error tab, and uncheck "show error alert after...."

Doing that allows the user to enter any value into cell B1 regardless of what is in cell A1. That is not what I want.

I don't think it will be possible to have that combination unless somebody can figure it out using VBA events....
